Lee is primarily a private family and divorce mediator and collaborative lawyer.
Lee is a graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (1990).
He received mediation training from The Center for Mediation and Training in 1997 and 1998.
Lee received additional Custody and Visitation Training as well as Parent-Child Advanced Training from Community Mediation Services in 2007.
In 2011 and 2012, he served pro bono on the Joint Committee on Fee Disputes and Conciliation as an arbitrator and mediator.
In 2012, Lee was trained in Basic Community Mediation at Community Mediation Services.
In 2013, Lee had Collaborative Law training at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
Additionally in 2013, he participated in and completed the 'Apprenticeship Program' at Community Mediation Services and received his Certification there.
Later that year, he took Special Education Mediation Training provided by NYSDRA (New York State Dispute Resolution Association, Inc.).
From 2013 to 2015, Lee was the Director of Training and Mediation Program Development at Community Mediation Services in Jamaica, Queens.
In 2020, Lee was selected to serve as a mediator on the New York County Supreme Court's Roster of Matrimonial Mediators.
Also in 2020, Lee’s article on Presumptive ADR in New York State was published in the New York State Bar Association Journal.
He has spoken on Divorce Mediation as well as on Helping Children of Separation and Divorce at:
· The NYS Society for Clinical Social Work, Queens Chapter
· Public Schools,
· The Queens Library,
· Parents Without Partners, and,
· The Mid-Island Y JCC.
Lee has also been a presenter for the Assisting Children Through Transition (A.C.T.) Program, a court connected educational program for separating or divorcing parents. It is part of the statewide Parent Education and Awareness Program (P.E.A.P).
From 2011 through 2017, Lee wrote a column on Separation & Divorce for NY Parenting and its associated print publications. He is the 2015 winner of the Parenting Media Association (PMA) Silver Award, and was the recipient of the 2014 PMA Bronze Award.
As a law student, it became clear to me early on that preparing for trial, and then settling on the courthouse steps or doing battle in the courtroom wasn't for me. I never liked the waste - time, money, emotional energy.
Moreover, I'm just not an adversarial kind of person. I would rather work together to find mutual solutions that look to the future, than ratchet up the hostilities by looking for weakness and past mistakes and attacking.
I don't know of anything more important than family. As a father who is divorced, I care about these issues very much, not just professionally, but personally as well.
